Peter Stallybrass is Professor of English, a Member of the Program in Comparative Literature and Literary Theory at the University of Pennsylvania, and Supervisor of the English Institute. Professor Stallybrass is author of Technologies of Literary and Cultural Production (1996), co-author (with Allon White) of The Politics and Poetics of Transgression (1986, 1990), co-editor (with David Kastan) of Staging the Renaissance: Studies in Elizabethan and Jacobean Drama (1991), and co-editor (with Margreta de Grazia and Maureen Quilligan) of Subject and Object in Renaissance Culture (1996). Currently, he is co-editor of the New Cultural Studies series from the University of Pennsylvania Press, and is working on an extended article on Marx’s coat and pawnbroking.
