Notes
- The six courses in theory are to be diverse and cover a wide range of theorists, forms, and issues. For students entering the MA program, one of the theory courses should be in the first semester (the introductory course if the student has little or no background in theory; another if background warrants).
- Foreign language skills are significant to theory studies. Students are to develop those skills as early in the program as possible.
- The MA Thesis in this track should be the length and quality of a publishable article (the intent is for the piece to be published).
